Recognized for his unique approach to the Word, he enriched the Malayali Pentecostal faith through his contributions as a preacher, songwriter, and writer. His life was marked by unwavering devotion to Christ, a passion for truth, and a heart to bless generations through preaching, writing, and ministry.
Dr. Samkutty was widely known for his Christian preaching and writing in English and Malayalam, his deep commitment to the gospel, and his powerful literary ministry—as a Professor of English Literature at Southern University, Louisiana, novelist, and evangelist.
His notable works include the acclaimed novel Palam Thettiya Theevandi, Bhayappedenda (Fear Not) and Madhyasthar Aakaruthe (No to Human Mediators), Szastravum Bibilum (Science and the Bible), tracts such as "What if There is No Heaven or Hell", short stories like award-winning "Surat," scholarly articles on British/World Literature, periodical contributions since 1971, the foreword for Reformation Brings Revival (Pastor K. E. Abraham) the lecture Bharya-Barthuru Bandham on family harmony, and over 20 devotional songs. He will be remembered for his faith, humility, and lasting impact.
His Homegoing service will be held on 16th of May 2026 at IPC Hebron Houston and Interment at the South Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, Pearland.
